Divisions
There are two divisions for the Willow Glen 5K: Youth, Adult, & Masters. The Youth category is targeted to elementary, middle and high school students (ages 5-18) wishing to run or walk in the race. The Adult category is for people over age 18 but under 50. The Masters category is 50+.
Course Description
The course is fast and flat. The Willow Glen 5K will start and finish at the Willow Glen Elementary School in downtown Willow Glen. The course will be marked, well labeled and measured to an accurate distance. Volunteers and police will monitor the cross traffic at all intersections, as much as possible. Volunteers and community groups will line the race course to cheer you on and provide entertainment.
We will provide two official water stations during the 3.1-mile-race. Water is also available at the the finish line.
Medical aid will be available at the end of the Willow Glen 5K course and at the Community Festival.
The Willow Glen 5K Run / Walk course will be open for participants for ninety minutes, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and reopen to traffic at 10:30 a.m. for all runners and walkers. Participants who are still on the course at 10:30 a.m. should proceed to the Willow Glen Elementary School.
Awards
Awards for the Willow Glen 5K Run / Walk will be given to top 3 male and female in the Youth, Adult, and Masters divisions. Other recognition will be given to some of the younger runners who have completed the race.
Each of the top three male and female winners in each age category will receive a customized medallion. Finally, the overall top male and female finisher will receive Grand Champion plaques.
Photos
Finish Line Photos will be taken and will be available to view and purchase online following the race. Additional photographs will be taken along the race route, so, please feel free to look for images of yourself, friends, family, neighbors and classmates.

Strollers are welcome.
Parking
Plan to arrive early. Parking is available in the surrounding community streets, including Lincoln Avenue and Minnesota Avenue. The race start and finish and community festival are located on the Willow Glen Elementary School campus, located at 1425 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose. Street parking is available and parking lots from local churches are open to race participants. Street closures begin at 8:30 a.m.; please plan accordingly. Parking lots include:
